Assisting a property management company develop their brand & website
Dickenson Property Management is located in the beautiful Prince Edward County, which has recently seen a huge increase in popularity as a summer holiday destination. Consequently, many people began investing in the area.
Christin took advantage of this opportunity by using her expertise and experience in property management to open up her own company. During its first summer, Dickenson Property Management quickly acquired many new clients due to Christin’s reputation for being hardworking, friendly and reliable. As such, we wanted to make sure these traits were emphasized in the company’s branding and across their digital platforms.
Brand Basics
Christin’s requested her company logo be straightforward, and simple and incorporate either a house or some form of landscaping.
The final design focused on the company name, framed on the left side by a simple outline of a house. As her company has seen most of its success as a result of Christin’s reputation as a hard worker, I wanted to place emphasis on her name with a strong, larger font.
The Logo
The font I selected for her name was Vidaloka due to its strong, clear, and professional appearance. For the words “Property management” I selected the sans serif, Monserrat, as its light and simplistic appearance evokes a sense of comfort and trust, further aligning with Christin’s reputation and company values.
The Fonts
The Colour Scheme
For brand colours, Christin was leaning towards greens and blues. Both aligned nicely with her brand’s values with blue symbolizing trust and loyalty and green; growth and renewal. We decided to go with a darker blue and lighter green to allow for contrast when placed together.
Business Cards
The goal for Christin’s business card was to keep it clean and professional. A double-sided card allowed us to do so while still being able to include all necessary information.
For the initial design, the background was dark blue with the written content and logo in light green and white. Dickenson Property Management’s new logo was presented on the front of the card and all necessary information was displayed on the back.
Although happy with the content on the card, Christin wanted to include an image of a fern or plant to demonstrate her landscaping services as well. Instead of including a small image or icon I incorporate greenery into the background itself to maintain a clean and professional appearance.
WEB DESIGN
Christin and I have recently completed the initial design for her company website. We focused on ensuring that those visiting her site understood why she was different from other local property management companies, her reputation for being reliable, and her mission to create lasting client relationships!
Over the next week, I will be uploading the designs for her website as well as details about the design process and choices made along the way!
Stay tuned!
