Helping with the initial brand design for a Chiropractic & Wellness Clinic
Chiropractic care is a holistic medical practice that treats the body as a whole, addressing the primary cause of a problem as opposed to certain symptoms. This comprehensive approach allows for the prevention of further injury and better overall health and wellness.
My client, Dr. Kamphuis, is looking to open a clinic that will further expand on this holistic approach by addressing her patient's entire lives, focusing on how the body reacts to not just mechanical stresses but emotional, work, social and nutritional stresses as well.
Based on her business goals, Dr. Kamphuis wanted her brand’s focus to be on personal growth and wellness. She wanted it to feel welcoming, uplifting and calming for future clients. My primary task was to design a logo and business card with these characteristics in mind.
Brand Basics
Dr. Kamphuis’s requested for her logo incorporate the spine in some way. She supplied rough sketches as a starting point but was also open to new ideas
The primary focus of the final design is the spine, positioned horizontally as it would be during a chiropractic session. The logo depicts the shape of a flower growing outward from the spine, representing health & wellness.
The Logo
Belleza is an elegant font selected for headings due to the high contrast in strokes that allow it to stand out. With the majority of Dr. Kamphuis’s clients being female, this slightly more feminine font was the perfect choice.
Monserrat is a simple & clear sans serif that that was selected for sub-headings and body text. We found Monserrat to feel both welcoming and trustworthy due to its light and simplistic appearance.
The Fonts
Shades of blue were chosen for the colour scheme as the colour is known to represent trust, wisdom, restfulness and healing and can also have a positive, calming effect on the mind and body.
